The thundering noise and distant chords at the beginning are from the opening track of Steve Roach - Kairos (recommended!).
This sounds more like a remix of various ambient stuff. The Baraka music is there too.

Baraka is great; it's got Michael Stearns doing the music; but I think Koyaanisqatsi has Philip Glass, whose music I didn't care as much for... kind of drab and repetetive... |
