I agree with you, I cant let an embryo, which has less cells than a fly, take precedence over the well being of a disabled child. though it true that ESCs have not had many successful trials, it is also true that ESC has received no federal funding. It is obviously a very complicated area of biology and I think that more time and money needs to be dedicated to it before we ever use them on humans, and if a completely superior alternative arises through that research then it is still a victory

I am a T-7 parapalygic. Paralized from my waist down I must learn to do many things diffferently. My wife is stretched beyond belief....beyond fair. I will walk again...that much I am sure of. However, I will NEVER ask another human being to give up their life just for the privledge to walk again! Thank God I don't have to do that...there are many other treatments that do work! Like my friend Dan always tells me..."Kevin when you gonna get off you butt and walk". w ww.walkagin. info

Choosing a topic is perhaps the hardest part of preparing a speech. Pick a couple of topics that you enjoy, and then do some cursory research to see which one is most promising. You may enjoy nuclear physics, but if there is a lack of information, you will find it hard to come up with a decent speech. Hope this helps!

hi again, i have a persuasive speech this week on thursday and i havent even chose a topic, i was going to do it on stem-cell but changed my mind and i dont even have an outline yet, what do you suggest i do? How long did you practise for yours?

Thanks. I find it extremely helpful to watch a recording of my speech. Then, I am able to consciously avoid making the same mistakes next time it is recorded. After a few iterations of this refining process, I usually become satisfied with the result.

I have a hard time with the 'potential for life' ethical stance. What about the life of a child with burns over 75% of their body that has already been born, has feelings, suffers, feels pain and we are certain has potential? If we compare these two lives how can we justify allowing such suffering to continue versus a group of 150 cells which 1. may be 'thrown away' anyway 2. may spontaneously abort and never develop or 3. has the potential to save many lives that suffer today?
