After this radio stage the signal has to be amplified to loudspeaker level. In this case by an audio amp of approx 1 watt. So no output transformer was used.

Hi, do you have this directly connected to an 8 ohm speaker after the 220nF capacitor? Why don't you need an output transformer?

Thank you. This tube has not a very "sheer" characteristic and does not amplify very much. Maximum anode voltage is 67 Volt. Perhaps with two 6088 stages after another (or one stage with 65 Volt plate Voltage and a too high signal level at the steering grid) you will get some clipping/distortion.
