That also depends on coil sizes, settings and ground conditions.

It's called threshold... It's necessary for hearing small fluctuations in case a very deep or very small item is present you will be able to hear it by noticing when the constant noise a.k.a. threshold has had a slight 'change' or 'jump' or just mutes. If you want to find very deep or very small items, in this case gold nuggets you NEED the threshold or annoying noise as some of you have referred to it =P. Thanks for the vid, loved it!
