sugar on the floor is one of my favorites of Ettas also,i too just redescovered etta a few years ago.she is undoubtedly one of the masters and she is timeless,rock on Etta,we love you baby!!!

I just think people need to give her(Bey) a chance. If they won't, then don't watch the movie. And as for singing, Beyonce lower register is very strong and her voice period has matured even from 2006. Will it be as good as Etta, probably not. But I don't think a professional actress could fully do it either. Unless, they dub Etta's voice. I just think people need to give her a chance, rather than saying what Bey can't do.

I get what you are saying. I am a fan of both(Bey and Etta) and even Etta at first said that she had some tepidations. But I think part of the problem is how people percieve Beyoncé. I like what Stokley from Mint Condition said about her. That underneath the commericalism and image, is a real artist. I agree. And before Dorothy Dandridge was auditioning for Carmen Jones, the director didn't think she could do it because of her iamge but she blew his socks and we all know what happened later.

Everything that yall are saying about Beyonce is the same bullshit they said about Jamie Foxx. "Oh, he won't do that good", "They need to get a more experienced actor". Jamie had all of the haters looking like fools when the movie came out. As long as Etta likes it, your thoughts don't mean shit.

Beyonce fans looking at Beyonce not Etta James. Anyone think Beyonce could play Etta James, they don't know Etta James. Etta James is cut from another cloth. Beyonce will not be able to wear this cloth. You need a real professional actress to play this roll. You ever play Etta James needs to be around Etta one on one basic, to get to know her life story. Like Jamie Fox was with Ray Charles for weeks before he decided to play Ray Charles and he did a good job during it. Etta James book is amazing

this have nothing to do with jealous hate , thats the way you concede this message. like i said needs an professional actress. Etta James bend around long enough to have her own life story. She was on drugs a portion of her life. She was around with the best of entertainers of her era. Read her book you will have a better grasps of Etta. If they do a story of her Beyonce will not do it justice. Her turn around from drugs when she song the opening national athemn in the 1984 Olympic

Beyonce will do just fine. Wait to see the movie before you cast your Beyonce jealous hate. And lastly, the movie is NOT about Etta but about mostly about the males like Muddy Waters, Little Willie, Chunk Berry and Beyonce as Etta is just a SMALL portion of the movie. Beyonce will do excellent like she always does.
