dude there was no way the germans whould have beat the soviets in 1944 even had the half million troops in france been transfered, the russians whould still have 2 to 1 in infantry 4 to 1 in tanks. and operation bagration that happened at the same time as overlord was more impressive. you are so wrong.

you see operation overlord had begun in june 1944 while the battle of stalingrad was over in the feb of 1943...the german stronghold had been broken a long time before D-day..the only reason importance is given to D-day is because it was the largest land invasion trough the seas in the history of warfare..its just tht a hype has been created

So overated that 1000's lost their lives in France? Total bullshit. Without D-Day the Germans would have moved far greater numbers towards Russia and cruched them. D-Day was essential and made the Germans fight on both fronts.
Also over looked is the English Channel! A huge abstacle in comparison to anything on the eastern front.
Without a second offensive in France Russia would have been crushed. That and very poor re-sup lines in the east.

dullz thats total bullshit, it was all important without one the other would probably have not succeeded. Fighting a war on 2 fronts is not wise. But on one its considerably easier.
