Yeah, cause you are shooting 7.62x51 ammo, otherwise known as .308 NATO. Same ammunition used in the M1 Garand, M14, etc. Think of a Mosin Nagant, but with half the weight, and that's why you have such high recoil. But it's a powerful round, proven to take a man down....accurate too. 5.56 has less recoil, and is lighter, hence why the military switched to it, but it just isn't effective. Get a recoil pad for the stock, and it will be much more manageable.

I like it. Maybe wear a black shirt next time for effect. That sort had a "Mr. Rogers goes crazy" feel to it. ;-)

Yup...you are taking .308....not a 9mm sub gun.

Many weapons have problems in a combat environment from debris entering through the ejection port. This also fixes the issue for left handed shooters.

recoil seems a little high

They do positively eject ....internally. The "dribbling" doesn't start until the queue gets full and they start falling out.
But the falling out part and ejecting part are two totally different things.

front ejection=free targets

Then you shoot a hole straight through the brass casing. A little bit of brass has nothing on a .308 y'see.

I don't object to the spent casings coming out the front, but I would like to see a more positive eject. They seen to just dribble out...
Outlander11 (September 29, 2008 at 3:23 am)
so.... what happens if by 1 in a million chance one of those spent casings wonders right in front of the barrel just as another round is fired?
Front ejection = bad. |
