and also just for ur info, among tamils in malaysia there r eelam tamils who came as civil servants, thy r doing well economically, its indian origin tamils tht came to work on rubber plantations that r mainly suffering because they are not of the malay race nor the islamic religion.
so called indian origian muslims have been merging with malays using religion, the fanatic mahathirs grandfather was an indian muslim frm kerala and now hez a "malay" who rants abt islam.

can u understand the background of the two immigrant groups before asking that, the vast majority of indians unlike the chinese came as labourers and worked on rubber plantations till recently, for ur info where the indians have been given equal opportunities (singapore) they have done quite well and far better than malays.

But there is one thing we can do.. BOYCOTT THAIPUSAM EACH YEAR! Make the donations run dry so that the temple committee have no options but to depend on the government instead. Since other places like Penang and Ipoh already have massive Thaipusam celebrations, why not move the festival there unofficially?
let`s bring some chnages to that aspect too. But how? Anyone familiar with the temple`s rules and selection of the chairman?

WE NEED NEW CHAIRMAN AT BATU CAVES...(NADARAJA)...How many years with the same chairman(Nadaraja) in batu caves....temple committee in other places are elected each year.. so usually everyone in the committee is rotated to be the president.. but the Batu Caves temple committee I dont think it works that way because of the obvious political connection.. so unless the committee looses its political ties (i doubt that will happen anyway) I dont think we can do much.

The Chinese [DAP] have gained power. The Extremist Muslims in PAS have gained power. PKR, [Anwar Ibrahim's agenda] has gained power. The MIC [so-called Indians pride] has been reduced to a joke. Did Hindraf stand for Indians or the Chinese and the Muslims and a Muslim wannabe PM? There is a 'current polital change'alright, but for who?

sivai66 sir, What is the 'hindraf idea'? 1st it was the British accused of slavery of early Indians, then it was marginalisation, 'mini genocide', temple issues, etc. What is it they are fighting for? If you say Indians want more say in the Malaysian govt and manipulate the voters, I agree. But is wild accusations the way? |
