These early Sky 'reporters' are very amateurish, I would guess the laughing women is now reporting on shoes for some local rag.

an updated cockpit would make for 2 pilots as opposed to 3.

BA would not sell their concordes to Virgin because of competition.

i still think that it's a good plane, more efficient than the gulfstream g350 per passenger. and what is the purpose of a glass cockpit? a cessna 150 doesn't have one.

And to say Concorde is shit? That's childish. Wether you like it or not, it was a marvel of innovation, It kept a lead above anything else for 27 years. There is nothing that is capable of doing what it did today, it is a fantastic farsighted design, that still looks fresh today. It worked, it perfored and it was and is loved by many Even if you dont agree with Concorde, or feel that is was wrong, or a waste of money or whatever. You can't justify anything by calling it shit.

What the hell are you going on about now. You talk about Richard Branson as if you know him, or are him! Just because he said he is, doesn't mean he actually is. He is known for his publicity stunts and you cant say if it is one, but then again you cant say that it wasn't. To clear things up, what you suggested is totally unviable.

yh saying that no one else has done it! seems virgin have the right minds and want to step forward in aviation he said he wanted to do it and now he has. he knew he could make concorde work thats why he wanted it. bit like ryan aire how they got there planes from boeing since 9/11 no one wanted to fly so people cancelled there orders and he gt the planes dirt cheap

Your being very childish about this situation. The old, bulky, out of date system worked - why try and fix it? You can't just do things. Virgin Galactic is a different situation. It serves a different purpose, it has a different market. You do realise that the spacecraft that Virgin will use, weren't developed by them, but by another company. Sure Virgin helped, but these spacecraft could be sold to any company that wanted them.

To show you more about the complexity of Business. BA had 8 Concordes, 7 production and 1 pre production that they used for parts. In the early 90's they looked at the cost of converting it into commercial operation. The plans were scrapped because the costs were too high. In the day when Concorde spares were being made, where they had many spare engines, when the Concorde boom was at it's height - making upto 50 million profit each year. IT WAS ECONOMICLY UNVIABLE. THATS BUSINESS.
