Criss Cross - "Seeing Her"
Steve (Burt Lancaster) just returned to town can't help himself and must see his ex-wife, Anna (Yvonne de Carlo) which will lead to nothing good in Robert Siodmak's 1949 film noir crime caper.
Yvonne de Carlo, born in Canada was encouraged to get into the entertainment business by her mother. Her father had abandoned the family when she was three, and her mother worked as a waitress to support them. They started coming to Hollywood when Peggy (her real name) was 15. By the time she was 18, the move was permanent and now Yvonne de Carlo (de Carlo was her mother's maiden name and Yvonne her middle name) began a long, difficult haul working bit parts and occasional leads in lots of bad movies in-between work as a dancer. It wasn't until she was 23 that she landed a decent lead role that got her attention, and better parts started coming her way. Two years later she starred with Lancaster in the terrific prison film "Brute Force" and a series of studio film leads. But it was her impressive role in the 1956 blockbuster hit "The Ten Commandments" opposite Charleton Heston, that truly established her as Hollywood elite. She eventually turned to television, with appearances in such shows as Bonanza and The Virginian, and of course, the 1964 show The Munsters.
Puerto Rican band leader Esy Morales and his Rhumba Band provides the music for Anna's seductive dance. Yes, that's Tony Curtis dancing with her. Then billed as Anthony Curtis.

I wasn't sure but almost that it was Tony Curtis, but I believe that her name was Margaret Yvonne Midleton De Carlo and her nickname was "Peggy" and (not trying to be a smart-ass though I'm sorry if I am)she did Salome where she danced when she was 23 (1945) |
