Okay, I read a little more about her life. I guess by this point she was in the middle of a lot of problems with drugs, which destroyed her voice. I guess that explains how bad she sounds...

Wow, she sounds AWFUL - like a frog croaking. Especially compared to Bowie. (Although the way he says "Babe" is a little creepy!)
