over where? - no he wasnt. he was an arranger of music and a studio musician before he joined zep. he joined zep to get paid. Jimmy page was in the yardbirds so at least something you said made the slightest inkling of sense.

An absolutely brilliant versatile musician, every major band in the world would have killed to get JPJ. He must have been in a pretty good outfit if he was the one who got the least recognition. Oh yeah, that would be Led Zeppelin.
