To say who the best dutch player was or is? Is a matter of opininon! Van Basten better than Gullit!? Yes but only as a goal scorer,who in his short career proved to many people,including myself! that he was and is the best striker football has seen!!and will most likely ever see!! But Ruud could do everything!!power on both feet!great header!good ball skills,pace,power,and he was a playmaker who scored goals!Many great goals! A true inspiration for all the teams he played for!Top 10 4sure!

Yeah, that was a goal for PSV around 1986/87, I remember that very well. Gullit is one of the best players ever from Holland. With AC Milan (together with van Basten and Rijkaard) he was at his peak, I think. And of course his fantastic season with Sampdoria, where Gullit played very strong and inspired.

the great thing about him is that he was a multi-dimensional player. he could do so many different things on the pitch. not just a scorer or a passer... just a quality player
