If you upgrade to the 4.20 firmware, load time is much faster.

this blu ray player will deliver a superior quality picture.. however u must remember if your source(television) is not hd compatible or supports 1080 p ur picture will not look that good.. Even if your tv is 720p to me its a waste to buy a blu ray player considering it puts out 1080p

Thanks, but what about the picture quality? Is the BDP S500 and the BDP S300 the same when it comes to Picture Quality? At Best Buy they were showing a scene from Spider-Man 3 on Blu-Ray and it looked like a home made video. What all do I need to make it look like this?

the bdp s500 supports true hd and master, audio technology(better audio source)... basically u can hook it up to a receiver that supports 7 speakers... however u can hook up the bdp s300 to a 7.1 receiver as well and still have it work to as long as it can decode 7.1... basically the only difference in my honest opinion is the audio capabilities... i just bought this unit and im totally satisfied.
