I was on the Healy from 03-04. She was pink on one side and red on the other, but she was a good boat with an awesome crew!

Here is my advice (advice that I did not take to my eternal regret)..take either a cutter or small boat station out of bootcamp. Stay away from the airstations and HQ units that sound like easier duty. They are MUCH easier duty as a non-rate, but you don't learn anything and don't get to really see what each rate does.

I've been in for 9 years now. I'm a Boatswain's Mate and it's awesome. GM is a great rate, but you'll be limited somewhat as to the units you may choose. Take time after bootcamp to observe other rates and see what you really want to do. Good luck and we'll see you in the fleet.

Pineapple,
Do what intrests you, if you want GM just know you will do a lot of support type work (besides firing the big guns)However it want action, go BM or MK. Good luck, Semper Paratus.
