Also SM is versatile, CSM has even a greater versatility and pack a greater punch. They can fight both at ranged and close extremely well and CSM are a bit more offensive and offers more versatility in form of daemons and cult marines. Tau is Ranged based, adept to weak in CC. This reduces their power on the battlefield and thus becoming less powerful on the battlefield.

Yes but if you read their codex they just not want to dominate and no matter what. They want peace, thats their ultimate goal, and thats weak. The main point is is that they also HEAVILY rely on technology and tau and suck an melee, wich is weak. TT is balanced out, because, if it would be fluff-wise CSM and also SM would crush everything with ease and that aint good at all, because that means that everybody is going to play sm and CSM wich reduces the income for GW. Fluff is another story...

Proably because tau don't have as much cannon fodder as the Imperium. Imperium has how thousands ow worlds that provide fresh meat? And how many planets do Tau have? The same is with Eldar - they are almost extinct so they cannot afford to waste their troops. What I am trying to say is, that the Tau are equally powerful on battlefield as any other race and faction. The other thing is that they are not as much in numbers, so they are counted as a rather minor threat.

Thats way to peaceful even for WH40k. The Chaos space marines is the most extreme faction i have ever encountered and ive looked by almost every known franchise or faction. They are the top, they are the most elite, brutal, ruthless, daemon combined with technology, extremely efficient, Very ancient individuals, most sick/brutal style (just take a quick peek in in the 4th and 5th CSM codex) then you'll understand what brutal detail actually means...mind blowing. CSM are the best WH40k army!

Dont start claiming that they're so ruthless because they aint. the reason is simple: What tau would consider horrible losses would be a job well done with the Imperium of man, orcs or Chaos (especially these), 'Nids (O'RLY) etc. etc. Only the eldar are also concerned about their losses but they are space fairies and i despise the eldar above all (the true wimps of wh40k)hmmmm i see a pattern emerging here. Tau cares about their troops so they can NEVER be as ruthless as CSM/chaos/imperium etc

Dude Tau stands for the idea of races working together they originally intended to bring ultimate peace to the galaxy wich of course did not work out, because the first meeting between the imperium of man and the tau ended in a bloodshed while the tau only wanted peace (FUCK that, its the WH40k universe ya' wimps). Tau its style belongs more to star wars/mass effect with nice round shaped vehicles and stuff. And to my knowledge those franchises are pretty wimpy and weak compared to WH40k

I do not recall a Tau ever offering a warp crazed zealot to join them. Tau are the best weapon to fight Chaos - for they cannot be corrupted. When you stand on the warpath with Tau, they won't stand back until you are dead. When it comes to war, Tau are just as ruthless as any other race.

you can... why? they first ask do you want to join us? Can you be reasoned with? and then kill ya' with SM/imperium it is LETS PURGE THE FUCKERS and then you get burned to death or shot to death. With the chaos space marines its WAY more worse then that. Tau are way to peaceful. A chaos slave/human/cultist only have to look upon a CSM marine.....they're dead, killed in the most brutal way possible. A tau-faggot would first ask to you to join him and offer nice services after you say fuck you...
