How can you not be awed by his playing? I remember seeing Buddy on The Tonight Show with Mr.Carson. He is what inspired me to play the instrument. He said in an interview that by playing in a pillow you get really fast hands..He must have torn up many pillows in his day!For example playing singles is a great warm up in the pillow then try it back on the snare.Amazing difference. Play on drummer! RIP B.R.

i have to dis-agree with the foot techique reason i say this is at Buddy' time how many drummers can you say had dubble foot bass or duel petals? plus yes now en days there fast but about 70% sounds like crap .. they've got away from as the man said "pure inspiration" not being negative towards you friend.

Buddy´s legendary and Jazz kills (Most complex style) but i have to respectfully disagree with you; at least in foot technique, the fastest drummers belong to metal. And in single strokes, I would bet for them. |
