It's not like tennis where you're very far away from the net and you can kill the ball behind the net with a very GREAT shot. In ping pong it would be slow and predictable. If you hit the ball from far away from the net, it's gonna bounce far away on the other side. A slow shot only takes a couple of steps to get to anyways. and when you get to it you now have momentum. It does happens but it's hardely an automatic point!

I never understood why these pro ping pong players never just hit the ball BARELY over the net when both players start moving very far from the table... why battle so far back when if someone just comes close to the table and barely hit it over the net with the other person so far away it'd be an AUTOMATIC POINT!!! Anyone else ever wonder about this?
