Turbojon, how can you say Nastia hasn't deserved a B score on bars of a 9?? You've lost your mind! She's the most amazing bar worker. Shawn is overrated on floor IMO. She has absolutely no dance ability or gracefulness and that should be a big part of the floor score IMO. Shawn is much more consistent, I'll give you that. She's also NEVER had to come back from any kind of major injury. Having a daughter in the sport I've followed the sport for years. I can tell you this is a big deal.

lastly these are shawn's B-score faults obviously nastia does some too fx: an international judge will never credit her whip to triple, her straddle 1.5 shud not have been credited either bb: does not reach 180, lands the full with her chest below knees, sometimes goes off to side on full turn, she tucks her front pike (A panel judges cud not credit it and b panel can deduct for not showing clear body position vt: great ub: good too but the handstands r sometimes off

i think nast deserved the 17 the first day but not the second day and ok shawn's vault and floor scores were a gift. and i dont agree with ur argument. why wud usa judges overscore nastia but not shawn?? obviously they do overscore but i think they do it proportionally

Yes but Nastia's scores on vault and especially bars came from la-la land. She was given those 17+'s on UB to intimidate China and to show other judges what to give her, sadly (most other gymnasts will only hear about the score and not actually see the routine itself). When Shawn is on, she doesn't deserve a B-score below 9.3 on ANY event. Nastia has never EARNED a 9.0+ on UB in my opinion, though I still love her. Bottom line: Shawn looks more unbeatable and consistent every day.

yea but its not good for her health and that ankle, landing backwards like that. i think it is better to stick it, be conservative, and be healthy. plus i dont think she can make it all the way around anyway. these lenient judges prob wud credit it (like they have been doing for shawn's 2.75-faked-to-triple) but the beijing judges surely will not

She needs every tenth A 2 1/2 is a D (+.4) A triple is an F (.6) Whic means she would get .2 more. And if she adds the other upgrade it makes her A score a 7.0 Which she NEEDS

ok true but about the triple, i dont think the new code wudever credit it the way she used to do it. and she has stuck or almost stuck the 2.5 several times so i think its better to go with that btw national beam champ!
