Although he was capable of writing good music, he struggled doing so. What came natural to John and Paul, George took years. He wrote 4 or 5 songs that were equal to anything John and Paul wrote but, it took him 10 years. This song is a classic example of WHY George must've felt the urge to plagiarize.
