i think your exactly right!! i went to a music seminar and the main director talked about clay and his talent and frank sinatra. and he was blown away when clay didnt win idol.

Clay has a nice 'musical theatre' style voice, but he ain't a Crooner in the traditional sense. The greats certainly didn't sound like a musical theatre school graduate.

NO! It is you who are out of touch. There are many in the music business who are considered experts on talent that have compared Clay's voice to the "greats". Also many music teachers and professors from prestigious colleges that are blown away by his talent, and have expressed their opinions on the subject.
