just because a psychoactive drug makes you feel better doesn't mean you need it. drinking 10 cans of beer will get you drunk and relax you and make you happy, but does that mean that person needed that beer to fix his invented non biological emotional illness, disorder, or disease?

Normal is what is socially acceptable.

Did anyone, ever had seen a normal person?

Regardless, all psychiatrists will agree that patients do respond to pharmacologic intervention. Medicine can and does help, even for those mentally ill patients with seemingly normal neurochemistry. They don't understand why, but much in medicine is like that. Likewise, for even non-psych disease with a known cause (eg atherosclerosis with high cholesterol), medications which would seem to make sense (eg cholesterol lowering meds) don't always work.

Even though this is fronted by scientology (which is comprised of nutjobs whose own theories to treat psychiatric illness are quackery), the video does make a couple of solid arguments. DSM-IV is a very misleading book. Many psychiatrists are hesitant to classify their patients into one specific diagnosis or another. Mental illness is never that straight-forward. Some patients have a chemical imbalance, but others do not (true for even schizophrenia).

Isn't CCHR a Scientology front group?
