*structure were invented was to pass on the ideals of what "sounds good". Something different may sound good to different people. I'm just saying from the point of view of the technical aspects of this composition, escpecially the instruments it's written for, this tempo is ideal. I've played Cello 1 and Violin 3 in different perfomances of this and with both parts this tempo was far more comfortable to play.

ya that i agree some of them are not that bad including this one. this could be slower but it's ok. They just kill the 4th concerto. Doesn't sound emotional att all.

How was I supposed to know it was "you" I don't even know who "you" are... I only realised when I noticed you've posted on most of these vids complaining about tempo... I have to agree with you on some of them. The 3rd movement of this concerto is too fast for me, as is one of the movts of the 5th but on the whole they play at tempi which I find comfortable to play and to listen to, so I guess that I just try and justify that musically. Cut the crap crazycello u knew it was me. Like I said. This is a very strong put together ensemble but their interpretations of these concertos are all too fast and wrong. The way they play the fourth concerto movement 1, sounds like a man talking to his wife at a speed greater than light. It is supposed to sound sad and emotional not fast and unemotional.

Listen to the music dude! It's happy, it's bright, and guess what, try walking, it's really quite a comfortable crotchet pulse to walk to ;) (also, since conceeding that Andante doesn't mean "walking" where is the evidence that "Moderato" means the same?)

well that is may be but Allegro Moderato is Allegro Moderato and I suggest that we follow and listen to what Bach wrote the tempo should be. Allegro Moderato= Happy, bright, walking tempo.
