people can enjoy music whether or not they can play it. All I am saying is that criticizing music should be left to musicians. I am a musician myself, but I do not play guitar anymore, so therefore, I do not criticize. I just try to enjoy it as much as I can. I can only effectively criticize other people who play bagpipes.

So music is just for musicians? not only that, but only for musicians that study and play the same instrument? no, music is for everyone and it's all about personal taste. Even the definition of music is subjective and depends on the person perceiving it as well as what ever (or whom ever) is making it

Haha, well I guess we're all entitled to our own opinions.

Mick Thompson...from slipknot...listen to some of his writing on more recent albums, he is definately a musician and not as you put it a 'musician'.
well i think so anyway.

Why are you so critical of people who are, or were incredibly talented people who enjoyed playing arrangements like this? Do you even play guitar or cello? If not, then you, as someone who has no knowledge of playing a musical instrument cannot effectively critique these people.

It's a shame how so many talented musicians die or are on the verge of dying: Hedges, Becker, Cobain, Staley, Hendrix...
It's also a shame how these "musicians" are successful:
Mick Thompson, Pete Wentz, Fred Durst

It is interesting that he inspired a new guitar style. One of which that Antoine Dufour plays who similarly went to school to learn classical guitar. I thought that was a bit ironic.

Michael Hedges will continue to live on through the countless musicians and fans that have gained inspiration from such a beautiful soul... |
