I hate it when someone uses "Greed is Good" from Wall Street as an ex. of all who support capitalism. I believe in the free enterprise system but greed is not good, profit is good. Profit allows us the freedom to pursue the life WE choose not what the government chooses. As soon as you turn your responsibilities over to the government, you lose all control over that aspect of your life. Greed is our downfall, the price for freedom is the ability govern our greed & take responsibility for self.

"Am I getting through to you, Mr. Beale?"

Just as Danny DeVito's Larry the Liquidator (Other People's Money) put the context and morality behind Gordon Gekko's "greed is good" (Wall Street), someone needs to make a movie reply to "Network".

"we no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies" it's interesting how powerfully true this is. beale preaches at the end about a hopeless world with no end to it. wrong. capitalism, as long as it remains dialectical, will collapse. how? by force. ONE DAY, WE WILL WAKE UP AND BE AS MAD AS HELL...

College can sometimes be used to denote (wow that word is waaay too formal for youtube) a group of colleagues. So, maybe he was right. BUT, then again he probably did mean collage!

Okay, douche bag. I think we both want to save the world; just can't seem to agree on how.
I believe it should be done one person at a time, starting with oneself.
When you can cover you own expenses, then you worry about the less fortunately.
I left college feeling guilty for having had the opportunity. I found it hard to justify my success if everyone wasn't succeeding.
But, by not succeeding I became part of the problem. The best anyone can do, is set good good example.

Wow you sound like a really stable and not atall bitter person. Why shouldn't people 'whine' as you put it? Stand up and be counted not sit back and accept less than we are capable of. But if belittling each other is all were gonna do we'll just leave it at that you sarky cunt.

Bugger off, limey twit.
I would have worthless possesions if I hadn't done so many worthless drugs.
Looks like you're headed down that path. Be thankful some worthless possesions come in big cardboard boxes. At least you'll have a place to call home. :)
If you wanna stay "outside the box," lose the victimtude. Free your mind & your ass will follow.
Your value to a free market society is in what you can produce. If you feel worthless.. try producing more than whines. |
