Ugh. Look, cartoons ARE just for "fun"... and they're for kids, mostly. However even as a youngster in the 70's, it was CLEAR that "Starblazers" was lightyears (pun) ahead of EVERYTHING coming out of America. The Japanese have cartoons down, the rest of the world does not. I didn't know Battle of the Planets was "Gatchaman", or Speed Racer was "Mach Go Go Go". I just knew they were BETTER than the shit Hanna Barbera, Filmation and Ruby Spears were cramming down our throats. It's better. It is.

Lordy, you people arguing about the way american cartoons were drawn and how anime and manga is drawn... Shut the fuck up. Seriously. A lot of people don't even realize most of the cartoons in American from the 80's originated in Japan! Anime is to draw. The exaggerated emotions and poses. American cartoons don't really have such great quality in terms of correct anatomy either. But who cares really? Their cartoons. They're for fun! Shut the fuck up. Please.

I agree with " addvogado"! manga sucks! why the hell japanese can´t draw people the way they are! you can see in most american cartoons , here on youtube, all the filmation cartoons : he-man, she-ra, tarzan, flash gordon etc... they have perfect human features, much better than these japanese crap! japanese must learn how to draw people correctly
