Theoretically tai chi would be the most advanced because of the method of gaining chi power in it's fighting. While hsing-yi and pa-kua do use internal dan tien chi, it's mostly with the mind focused there to access the chi. But with tai chi one has to spend years attaining the grand circulation and consciously be able to move the chi from the dan tien, up the spine and out to the limbs instantly and in coordination with each move. This is what makes it so hard and gives it SO much power too.

yeah, internal martial arts are all generally very high lvld due to the general reliance on internal strength rather than external force. its on a whole nother plane compare to external arts which rely alot more on techniques & brute force

Skytte is correct. However tai chi is more or less the suttle style while Bagua is a very deep misunderstood style. In preference i chose bagua when i needed to chose because i is actually the more powerfull in the physical sense as well as the chi sense. Its hard to explain if you do not study them you cant fully understand. I cant even fully understand....

I agree that the argument that any internal martial art is better than another is pointless. It is the skill and expericence of the practioner and not the martial art that is important.

yes i agree with you. The question about which martial art is the best, is questionable and as you say pointless, in terms/means that "what is good for one, may not be good for another". Furthermore i think its a cocktail about: the person who trains, the teacher who teach, and how the training is being done/organized... The martial art itself, is therfore a secondary aspect.

Funny. Usually people (e.g., Bruce Kumar Frantzis, as well as his teachers) will say that bagua is the most advanced of the internal arts, not taiji. I think this sort of argument is pointless, though. They're each as advanced as you make them.

I don't think that you can find them in any DVD stores... After what i have understood, the original recordings where lost to BBC years ago...
So unless you know someone who have recorded them from the television when they where broad-casted, there's not much chance to find them... Unless you are lucky to find them on the internet somehow...
