Sgouros is 39 now so this vid had to be from 1986 or so. The performance is technically very solid. But emotionally I find it a bit mechanical which is not surprising since he's so young. So it wouldn't be fair to compare this to Bronfman or Argerich or Horowitz. But I'd love to hear him play this piece today. I bet it would be killer !

The thing about the Rach3 is that when you see someone that plays it, you NEED to compare them to Bronfman or Horowitz. You can't say that he's immature/not old enough - the first time he played this WAS when he was 12.
This is a very good Rach3. I'd recommend it :)

Yes....he is amazing....I love the way he handles it all....BTW he was born in 1969 so he is almost 40 now.

I wonder why some people are so mean!! I don't know if they jealous of Sgouros but he is fantastic at this video.. He is too young to play it perfect, but is awesome... I don't say that this version is better than Bronfman's or Horowitz's, but he is great.. especially for a 17 years old boy.. I am 18 and I can play well revolutionary etube of Chopin, not Rachmaninoff's 3 concert!!
