Also in Muay Thai, we kick all the way through the target, there is no snapping back. KM keeps both hands in front of hte face during a kick, in MT we throw an arm back to counter the violent motion of the kick. There are tons of differences. I remember the first time my friend took me to a Muay Thai gym, I never looked back. To me the kicks from KM are like karate cross with kickboxing. It does not resemble Muay Thai.

In Krav Maga I remember people putting their foot forward sideways and then pivoting off that. In Muay Thai we pivot the foot with the motion of the kick. In Krav you guys lift the knee first and chamber the kick, then kick, kind of like karate or TKD. In MT we dont chamber we just throw the leg out deadleg, the leg follows the motion of the hips like a whip. In KM alot of people hit with foot/shin. In MT the objective is to hit with all shin, although it doesent always work out that way.

I did Krav Maga for a while before I left it for Muay Thai. The kicks in Krav Maga are really different from Muay Thai. I cant comment on Taekwondo, never done that.

how is that Krav Maga?? Intense, absolutely. Brutal, you bet. Just seems like a martial arts fitness class.

well we cannibalize most of our kicks from taekwondo and muay thai. although i must say that conditioning classes are seldom a good example of our combatives. in conditioning classes striking form is generally put on the back burning in favor of training our muscles to be explosive, from zero to 100 motions because thats when we expect to be using the techniques we learn: when are not expecting to

Your kicks are look like the Taekwondo, is really good! Krav Maga is have many the techniques from Martial arts, im join it after 3 years of Judo and almost every takedown and grappling move is from the Judo. Iv only do Krav Maga 2 weeks and the excersises... I often need sit out because feel sick, but my goal is in two more weeks I dont need sit out at all. |
