i agree with you. it also pissed me off that they didn't include the aquatic stage, even though Will Wright showed us that stage during '05.

ive been a gamer a long time and i have spore, but i have to honestly say that what i saw and heard about this game in 2006 looked much more in depth than the final product. especially the tribal stage, which is pretty limited in the current version compared to what seemed to be more freedom of building in the early presentations of the game

If you're any sort of gamer looking for depth in gameplay other than creating things...no you should not get it. The only thing that goes into depth is the creation aspect of it and it's not perfect. The actual game play is divided up into 5 different sections...all that emulate a gameplay style...but very very shallowly. If you're an extremely casual gamer you'll enjoy it but if you're a semi-serious gamer it'll just make you mad that it's so shallow.

it bores you quite too fast, because the phases are very easy and short ...
