Helen Morgan did a mighty job in the 1936 version (despite what some would have seen as an ill-fitting voice) with Hattie McDaniel and Paul Robeson. I recommend that you look it up!

it wasn't Gershwin it was Jerome Kern with lyrics from Hammerstein.

It was George Gershwin.

Hey, who was the person that invented this song "Can't Help Lovin Dat Man"?
kspm01 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
She sadly is underrated; thank you for your appreciation!
