1990) Bonnie Raitt - one of the most critically admired yet commercially ignored white R&B singers in the history of popular music, Bonnie Raitt only achieved the success and respect she had so obviously deserved with her tenth album, almost 20 years after her recording debut. The daugher of Broadway star John Raitt (of Carousel and The Pajama Game fame), Bonnie Raitt (born 1949) was first captivated by the blues and began learning guitar at the age of 12. After dropping out of college in 1969, she began playing on the US folk and blues circuit, turning heads due to her ability - almost unique in a white female - to play credible bottleneck guitar. She became friendly with many of the surviving blues legends, including Howlin' Wolf, Mississippi Fred McDowell and particularly Sippie Wallace, with whom she later recorded. After paying her dues in clubs, she signed with a major record label in 1971,when she released her eponymous debut album which included both contemporary songs by Stephen Stills and Paul Siebel and a number of blues covers, plus two selfpenned originals. Backed largely by R&B musicians who normally worked with producer Willie Murphy, Raitt was somewhat sold short by the album. as became clear with the release of 1972's greatly improved "Give it up" album, which made the US chart and featured mainly white rock players and superb songs written by under-appreciated songwriters like Eric Kaz and Jackson Browne, plus three originals and several R&B covers. She went on to release seven more albums ("Takin' my Time" (1973),"Streetlights" (1974), "Home Plate" (1975), "Sweet Forgiveness" (1977), "The Glow" (1979), "Green Light"(1982) and "Nine Lives" ( 1986) ). 1989's "Nick of Time" found Raitt on a different record label after 18 years with one company, and with production by Don Was, Raitt finally found herself receiving the commercial rewards (and Grammy Awards) her mainly excellent body of work had always deserved. 1990 saw her winning another Grammy awards for her work on John Lee Hooker's "The Healer" album, which was to some extent a return to the roots for two truly great artists from different generations. Chart positions are largely irrelivant in Bonnie Raitt's case, but anyone who enjoys great music is missing something should they decide to ignore this supremely tasteful andutterly sincere artist. ______________________ ______________ Heart Condition is a 1990 action, comedy, drama film starring Denzel Washington and Bob Hoskins. Hoskins plays a manic career cop and Washington an adorable but sleazy ambulance chasing lawyer. Hoskins' years of bad habits, such as overeating, smoking and drinking, finally catch up with him. At the same time his nemesis (Washington) gets gunned down in a drive-by shooting. The result: one heart transplant donor, one heart transplant recipient, and a hilarious adventure when the ghost of the donor haunts the transplant recipient in an attempt to get him to find his murderer.

Why cant't you all just enjoy the music. If you don't like the music, don't post such negative comments!

This is the original version - due to the fact that Bonnie Raitt wrote the lyrics. Bonnie Raitt is an American blues singer-songwriter who was born in Burbank, California. She is also an avid political activist and has received nine Grammy Awards in her career. I have listened to Anna Bergendahl, however, she is just covering and starting out. With time she may grow into a great singer. But for now, Bonnie Raitt is the one with the class and the one that gets the credit.

Yes, ok WAS a crackhead. Same shit. And the only reason she made it big at all was cos at that time there was like what? 1 famous singer in the entire world. It wasnt really a tough crowd back then. Id like to hear u sing that song since with ur critique it sounds like uve been singing urself for 35 years. I wanna hear that beautiful sound of ur pimply teenage screech voice do ANYTHING but screaming at ur mom to buy more cheetoes and coke. Yutz

She is not done with Idol yet. And just so you know, a persons talent is not measured in how much times he/she has been on tour. Just cos paris hilton has released 2-3 songs and did a lil touring shes all of a sudden experienced? No.. she still suck donkeyballs. And she is still a millionair and im betting she got a buck or two off those songs aswell.

When she actually accomplishes something in the musical arena please let me know. Write your own music, tour, become successful. Then come talk shit about other singers who you are COVERING.
