I do agree with Jack Welch when it comes to vision but I question the lower/upper 10% issue because it didn't do well for Motorola; who's CEO Chris Galvin used Welches tactics and forever changed the corporate culture there. After 100,000 layoffs/selloffs they are still laying off their lower 10% and it's not working. Motorola has tuned from a family oriented company into selfish individualism, which isn't good at all because successful organizations require tight knit teams. Just ask the Army. |
