Sun Ming-Ming is playing for Dodge City Legends (USBL) in Kansas. The 23-year old China native picked up basketball just 5 years ago and removed a brain tumor just last year. While he still has a long way to go before making the NBA, he is working really hard to realize the dream.

given his athleticism i doubt he would be playing any especially physically demanding sports if he was only 5,9". if he were 6,9" he might play some ball though but his chances at the NBA would be nil.

no but, if he was 5 foot 9 i bet he wouldn't want to play basketball at all, teams that draft people this big are cruel, we all know theres better talent out there,

how because they are more than 70% of the height of the rim? well in Sun's case more like around 78% (with his shoes on). It's pretty obvious that basketball originally wasn't designed for people that tall. If it was, the rim would be 11 feet. btw I am pretty confident Kenny George or Sun Ming Ming couldn't dunk on an 11 foot rim even though they could dunk on a 10 foot one w/o jumping.

i hate to sound horrible, but people this big ruin the great game of basketball.

Not sure if he's actually the tallest pro baller...but man is he huge...but he doesn't have a hance in the NBA even though he has improved since the removal of the tumor.
