CaptainCropper, some posts back you suggest CISA padlock, then which exactly? Some some ago I saw here in youtube video, where Cisa 28550-67 Lock was picked very quick (obviously now I cannot find this video anymore, if it is removed, then it is not very fair). And, seeing what type of key is used, I believe, it is not difficult- I somethings pick locks myself for fun.
How much better is Squire SS65CS? I'm, as user, want to know and have right to know what my security solution can withstand.

Karamjit, I have had a look at Trimax cables for you and can't actually see any that have an ACTUAL CABLE thickness of 30mm. If you had a cable that was actually 30mm you wouldn't be able to bend it. I am assuming therefore that you have a run of the mill cable and not a specialist custom thickness cable. My advice is to change it for a chain NOW! Cables are terrible, they can be cut with a huge range of tools. There's a cable cutting clip on my page, have a look.

is 30mm cable easy to cut vs chain?
i have 30mm trimax cable and also 5/8 kryptonite cable.

Hello Essex. Going to disagree with you on that I'm afraid. I had an attempted theft on my ZZR1100,broken panels and seat. Now I think it's safe to say that they wanted my bike, howerver,I wanted to keep it MORE than they wanted to take it.If I'm willing to sit at the window with a sniper rifle then I doubt any level of "want" on their behalf would result in a successful theft.Bottom line, make sure your side of the want/keep equation is heavy on your side.

Good video Good demo... If they want it they WILL take no matter what you do .
These locks and chains are deterant only and 80% of thieves are oppatuneists better to slow him/her down by 30 secs before they get to work on the lock

Most chains over 16mm with a quality lock will stop croppers. Anything belows 16mm will not (in my experience)

Ok, what would you do? We've been to Trading Standards, they did nothing, we demonstrated personally to ACPO 3 months ago and little has changed on the Sold Secure list despite ACPO meeting with Sold Secure. We've been to the press, they do what they can, but basically no one is in charge of Sold Secure any more, they are out of control and abusing the trust they have garnered with the general public. I'm still not convinced that we are due a crime wave because of this video. Agree to disagree. |
