Wow, great post! I have the same gun. Bought it 13 years ago on my 21st birthday, and its still my favorite shooter. However, it is a pain in the butt to reassemble, I think I've done it defferently every time, but it always works!

Got the gun back together, but now when looking at the bolt where the firing pin stop pin should be, I see a small hole, which you can look clean through to the other side? Have I lost the pin? Can I order and replace it myself? Thanks if you know!

Sometimes, when I attach the receiver to the grip frame, it goes in a bit canted. You can tell if this is the case when you look through the main hole for the takedown pin... it should be as close to a perfect circle as you can get. Make sure the bolt is in the receiver properly and the rear of the recoil spring is in place within the bolt. Also, check to make sure that the hammer strut is out of the way and not blocking entry. You may need to review step 6 in the Ruger manual for reassembly.

Your bolt pin drops in so easily! For the life of me I CANNOT get it in the bottom hole! This frustrates me to no end, I got it all taken down (finally!), cleaned, and put back together, except I can't get the damn bolt pin assembly back in there! It simply won't budge, like it doesn't fit the hole or something! I've done it previously and it worked but for whatever reason now she won't go! Any tips? Thanks!

Creating makeshift suppressors is technically a federal crime, so we can't really discuss those kinds of things here.

I agree, I tried to field strip my Ruger Mark 3 without music and I got my finger caught in the slide! It hurt like a mo-fo. I am always sure to play mambo music now and haven't had a problem since.
