Tool is not the kind of typical band that wants all their fans to understand everything about what they do. Like Maynard said in an interview, "if you haven't figured out my shoe size yet, i'm sure you will soon enough". I don't understand why people can't listen to their music and let your imagination run wild. I bet if you do this and not try to relate it to your life or something else, you will enjoy watching tool videos and listening to their music a whole lot better. Just enjoy it

To that I would ask him what the point of doing is. Why create pair two things together if you don't want one to go with the other. Not that I'm dogging him, but I just wonder ya dig?

Adam Jones told everyone who helped creat this video. To not go along with what they feel fits the lyrics and sound. Infact he had a few people redo everything just because of it.

thats good. over muffled drums constrict the natural sounds they produce, so not muffling them lets them "sing".

I think this is Tool's weakest video....which is still better than most other videos but the reason I say this is that my interpretation of the song differs greatly from what the visuals convey. I interpreted the lyrics as talking about our sick quality of deriving pleasure from other people's suffering. The visuals in the video seem more metaphysical and spiritual in subject matter than the song itself. Granted that's just my view, I love the song, love the visuals, just not both put together..
