No, merely being offensive doesn't make you funny. The problem with Sarah Silverman is that she's not clever enough to come up with funny material, so she resorts to low-brow, offensive stuff. Talking about poop, pee, old people dying, etc. is just a lazy way of doing comedy. Sarah Silverman's whole appeal is that she's a cute girl who says shocking and offensive things. She's not actually funny.
