Capitalism can also be very intrusive and repressing. Tell people who work 70 hours a week just to be able feed their kids and pay their rent. Tell them that capitalism is freedom.

You are using the wrong definition of capitalism. Political power can only be bought were there is political power. In capitalism ther is no political power, only a set of basic rules. You are describing the system we have today. Today politicians are bought by corporations because we have political power available to sell.

Ultimately, capitalism is the freedom to buy anything you want to - even politicians. What we are seeing today is the natural conclusion of unfettered capitalism.

There's some truth to that, I just wouldn't call it Capitalism, just like I wouldn't call you a healthy normal person.

privatising the gains, socialising the losses - the richest get richer and ever more powerful the mass become poorer reliant on the people that print money to give them the scraps for the servicing of the elite. Maybe in you imagination. Capitalism is freedom from government intervention and regulation, but sadly we we don't have capitalism anymore.
