exactly. the thign is a guitar without effect has prity much been done to death (with simple effect aswell) why stick to one tried and tested method to be an average style band when you can have a gr8 instrument that can produce so many different effects that adds a personality to a song that otherwise would fit into the rest of a genre?

I just saw Steve Lukather. All I have to say is that Bellamy and Lukather solo in different ways. I'll call it solo soloing = Lukather. Band soloing = Bellamy.

Hey PloKoon133. If you read this then I have a question: Why bother responding to these people? Why not just post a video of what you like and leave opinions be? Personally, I'd love to see a better guitarist than Bellamy. Seriously, post something. I just love music and Muse haunts me. I'm pretty much addicted.

Wouldn't all guitarists be average without no effects? Without no defined style Matt Bellamy is the best guitarist of the 21st Century. We can all dwell on the past.Talking of Hendrix and May etc etc. Its now a Muse era.Like Pink Floyd had theirs. Muse are at the forefront of British Rock. These guys are the only good product to come out of the UK since Queen,Pink Floyd etc etc The UK need Muse. I'd hate to have The Wombats and all the other crap at the top. P.S Muse are still best Live.

well said mate! everyone on here comparing him to yngwie malmsteen knows fuck all.... yngwie's songs are relatively boring after a few minutes.. this performance let along has a brilliant solo which is completely genious, but matt puts on a great performance and entertains the crowd

And without the damper pedal Chopin would have been nothing compared to what he was, and what he still is. Bellamy is simply utilising new technology as the guitar evolves into a more modern instrument. Arguing that using effects makes someone less talented is so backward and stale it's unbelievable. Also, is 'dicking' about not what rock music is all about? I think Hendrix used to fuck about a fair bit (i.e set his guitar alight). Les yawns over your awful points.
