freestyleing should mean somethign made up on the spot free from any "written" or any "help" on the creating of that from outside planning, And the style is rap/hiphop which we are creating spontaniously off the top of the head. Thats my interpretation of it, and i think one is more skilled if they can practice their freestyleing as much as thir rhyming and writing written shit if not more!

What are you talking about you dumb herb? "Toasting" is the root of rapping. Which was Jamaican culture. Freestyling on the East when rap was developing was any dope rhyme you would show in a cypher.. and guess what? They were written non-conceptual rhymes. Freestyle Fellowship's Myka-9 took the word as "Improvisation" because of his major Jazz influence. It may have started in the east, but it evolved in the west like B-Boying did.

freestylin is originally from a guy that use to write and rap them to his girlfriend....and then he got sick of writting them so he 'freestyled' his feelings to his girl...as far as i know i found that on this hip hop site like 3 months ago... if its wrong then someone correct me...
