you need to have a postpaid plan, and sign up for the unlimited hotspot at home calling for $9.99 a month to have unlimited calls on a wifi network. otherwise, the cell phone just uses the wifi network as a cell tower, in case you don't have good cell reception at home.

it needs to be wifi. and to be able to make unlimited calls on a wifi network, you need to sign up for the unlimited plan which is only available on postpaid calling plans.

ok, i'm confused, i'm thinking about getting a T-Mobile to go prepaid phone, and i do have wireless internet at home (not wi-fi, password encrypted), so will it work w/ my phone without this HotSpot @ Home?

These guys are not telling that we should buy Hotspot@home from t-mobile to use wifi network. I do not think it is free.
