This cartoon (along with other "Hook" cartoons) was found by accident in the garage of a former soldier who had saved them, thinking they were "Private Snafu" shorts. The cartoon was finally discovered in the mid-1990s when an A&E documentary on war cartoons began production. It turned out that Warners made these shorts for the US Navy and because they wanted to keep this a secret, all original negatives were destroyed shortly after release. The "Hook" shorts that were given to the cartoon researchers had "vinegar syndrome" and have deteriorated, but fortunately before that happened, they transferred them to video. ~ Source; IMDB.

Okayyy.... i forgot that in ww2 the military racist fucktards used cartoons as propaganda it's so easy to lead a bunch of brainless assholes to support a cause if you tell them they do have a common nemesis, the Japs, the Communist, the Muslims, the Mexicans etc..... so when you question your own stupid president 'bout the economy or the war then they will say : WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA SO MUCH?!!

Wow, that's fucked up. And talk about propaganda.

Hm, so it has nothing in specific to do with any of the Axis powers, then? Thanks for the info Heh, asbestos and reassurance....

A number of theatres had curtains made with asbestos lining after horror stories of people dying in fires caused when the curtains caught fire. Often they had the word "ASBESTOS" sewn into the fabric to reassure the audience. I remember one cartoon that used a similar gag with the curtain reading (in pun) "WE TRY - ASBESTOS - WE CAN".

the reason the Asbestos joke is there is because Asbestos is because its made of a type of stone so it can burn it implies that everything the Japanese made was crap
