hey man, I have the very same album, found it at a garage sale years ago and have always enjoyed listening to it. I was not familiar with her and have known nothing of her other than that album. So glad to find her on youtube and to know someone else has that same great live recording. Cheers

Bessie Griffin and the Gospel Pearls! I used to listen to them when I was in high school! Totally rocked! Fully alive and wild! (Pre Aretha Franklin!) Swing Down Sweet Chariot! Amazing. I was dancing in bed at night. I was so into Gospel then. Unique. Sold my album a long time ago. Wish I had it or someone would put it out on CD or Mp3. She died in '89. But she and her group was one of the best!

She also sung with the Caravans too.There was a site called the Gospel Highway and it stated that she started out with a group out of Louisiana I forgot the name I don't know if the site is still running or not it had a lot information on singers and groups from that era.
