I was trying to explain this to someone the other day. Acknowledging that something is unknowable doesnt mean your not an atheist is just means youre a reasonable person.

Atheist:
Without belief in a deity.
Those are common street bastardized definitions. These terms are not mutually exclusive. I am, for instance, an agnostic and an atheist. However, I also actively disbelieve a gods existence. Which is not required of an atheist.

Actually, atheist means "Without belief in a deity". This does not mean positive disbelief in a deity. The common bastardization of atheist means positive disbelief in a deity when the actual meaning is not that. You don't have to believe there is no god to be an atheist. YOu just have to not believe god exists. You can not know all you want, it's about lacking a positive belief in a deity.

You post a video on youtube for the WORLD to see and you are suprised when an anomaly finds your ability to see the hearts of agnostics a little bizarre? Yes, I thought this was funny; so, I left a comment.
Along with impatient stupidity, your opinion should include the following: wicked, evil, selfish, arrogant, unrighteous, ect...That IS ME. I admit, I have too many faults to mention here. So if you want more help in forming that opinion, there you go.

ya know, it's funny. I've had several text correspondences with agnostics that have seen this video and they all have gone very politely and maintained a civil tone. I almost all of them they understood where I was coming from and what I meant...yet HERE COMES YOU! Between this and your impatient stupidity on the other video, I completely changed my opinion of you. I think you just made baby Jesus cry.

I too am agnostic. That doesn't keep me from being an atheist.
Do you know if god exists or not? No. So you're an agnostic.
Do you believe in a god? No. So you're an atheist.
They aren't mutually exclusive, chief. |
