http://www.ted.com With the drama and urgency of a sportscaster, Prof. Hans Rosling uses software from Gapminder debunks a few myths about the "developing" world. This global health visionary has discovered a powerful new way to communicate complex data about the world; his remarkable interactive graphs help deliver profound insights about global trends and will change forever the way you think about "us" and "them." Rosling is professor of international health at Sweden's Karolinska Institute, and founder of Gapminder, a nonprofit that brings vital global data to life. (Recorded February 2006 in Monterey, CA.) You didn't include the component of education. The usa has an educational system that has been corrupted and degenerated. Its economy has been corrupted also. If you reform its education, it would cause a major correct to its economy. We shouldn't favor wealth over poverty, but more of a global balance of a distribution of wealth.

He shouldn't have used the log scale in his graphs. The overlap is WAYY overstated. But his ideas for statistical sharing are very noble!

Exactly what myths has this nut debunked?? What's so amazing about computer graphics?? Amazing for 1970 perhaps. A generous 1 star worth.

Mauritius has good family planning. So the people don´t get to much children any longer. This also helps. I was in Africa and there are many poor people which have made a lot of children. So the growth of the economy is eaten up by the growth of the population. If they could stabilize overpopulation, not this many people would die and they would get more wealthy!

This does not take into account inflation...
