Carsten Jancker might be one of the most rediculed german national team strikers ever. But he wasn't really as bad as he looked in the last couple of years. Ok, he sucked since the middle of 2001, reaching an astonishing goal record of 8 goals in 106 league-games in Germany, Italy, Austria and China. But since the start of this season, Jancker has recovered. He's now at austrian midgets Mattersburg, and guess what - he scores goals again! Jancker was never known for beeing a world class striker. He was an odd figure, somewhere between impressive, frightening, embarrassing and rediculous. And he had success. In his 5 years of stardom, he played the Champions League-Finals twince, won one, won the intercontinental Cup, played the Cupwinners-Cup-final, won 4 Bundesliga-Championships and at least was a part a World Cup-Finalist. And all of that in just 5 years. So, let's remember and pay tribute to one of football's most interesting figures: Carsten Jancker. schade, dass man nur noch so wenig von ihm hört. er war bei bayern wirklich ein respekteinflößender, bulliger Stürmer, der allen angst und schrecken einjagen konnte. so ein stürmer bräuchte deutschland ma wieder !! übrigens nen super video in guter qualität

no one has scored a goal in Real Madrid during their prime time like Jancker's goal. I hope he stays fit and goes back to the bundesliga, many players in italy are aged 36 and more and still can play at the highest level, i dont see why he shouldnt try going back to the bundesliga. I hope he scores more goals in austria and stays fit. Carsten Jancker Fussballgott

So einen Fußballer gibts nur einmal. Vor dem hatten die Abwehrspieler noch Respekt ;-) Interessant, dass seine Hochzeit auch die der Bayern war.

war, ist und wird immer mein "all-time-fav. player" sein. Im sure that bayern will get him back into the family after his career. He was one of the fav. bayern players of all time. Just one of us :P That goal against 1860 München was the best ive ever seen in my life :D
