http://www.unseen64.net http://www.bungie.org/evolutio... "The Evolution of Halo" showcases Halo during its development, featuring commentary from various developers. Shown in the movie is Halo during its earlier stages, when it was still being developed as a Myth-like RTS. Later stages show it as an over-the-shoulder 3rd person shooter, complete with the Master Chief riding a lizard that looks suspiciously like a Chocobo. This movie was originally shown at the E3 2002 Fanfest - and Bungie made it clear it would never see the light of day, as far as the general public was concerned. They DID allow a shakeycam version to be filmed that night, though, and that movie's been out for almost 2 years now. The April 2004 issue of PC Gamer UK has this film on its bundled disc.

It doesn't surprise me that Halo came from an RTS. It feels too much like one, even as an FPS.
