One of the best moments from a wildly uneven production. I love when the houselights come on at the end of the liebesnacht... genius. There is also much silliness and mediocre singing, but I'll watch anything with Waltraud in it.

She's doing weird stuff with her tongue. Don't like it.
Jessye Norman sings this better.

Great isn't she? I bought the DVD a couple of years ago. Its with Zubin Mehta. Weird staging, costumes (esp Act II in the forest - ridiculous yellow couch), but good playing & singing. Waltraud Meier is the sop, good as Marie on Barenboim Wozzeck too.

I am not a fan of her's I don't like the sound of her voice and she has a bad tremolo. BUT this is very well sung and she has a beautiful face.

She is Waltraud Meier, a marvellous german singer. I love the way she sings and she is a great actress too. In fact, she "is" Isolde.
