This is a video about the great swedish football player, Per Tomas Brolin (b. 29.11.1969). He celebrated his goals with the well known 'pirouette'. This is my tribute to something I previously considered as a somewhat odd celebration, but which I have come to terms with as time has passed by. Brolin proved to be one of the worlds best midfielders, during Sweden's World cup 1994 campaign. His best years as a football player (starting as a striker), was from 1990 to 1994. Unfortunately, he fractured his foot in november 1994, and never returned to quite the same level of fitness. He got his last cap for the Swedish national team as young as 26 years. Tomas Brolin, thank you for your contribution to world football! And for some great memories from the 1994 World Cup. Here are more information about his career: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T... http://www.leedsfans.org.uk/le...

Just as it is difficult to compare Gunnar Gren,Nordahl,Liedholm or "Nacka" Skoglund to Laudrup. Different era to begin with. I guess Zlatan at least comes close to Laudrup though.

He was awful at Leeds! I saw every game he played. To be fair ro him he clearly wasnt fit after the fracture of his foot. However he was over weight and disinterested. More interested in trips back home and filling his suitcases up with limpa.

Michael Laudrup won the award for Best Foreign Player in Spanish Football the last 25 years (1974-1999) in competition with players like Maradona, Romario, Stoichkov etc etc

Cruyff: "One of the most difficult players I have worked with. When he gives 80-90% he is still by far the best, but I want 100%, and he rarely does that." Platini: "One of the biggest talents ever. The best in the world on the training pitch, but never used his talent to its full during matches." Guardiola: "The best player in the world, I can't believe he hasn't won the title as best player."

What a joke. Don't get me wrong, Brolin was fantastic and he is one of my favorite Swedish players. However you can't compare him to Michael Laudrup. Some quotes about Laudrup: Beckenbauer: "Pelé was the best in the 60's, Cruyff in the 70's, Maradona in the 80's and Laudrup in the 90's." Romário: "The best player I have ever played with and the 4th best in the history of the game together with Zidane." Raúl: "The best I have ever played with."

Indeed, he was a level higher than Laudrup.
